Goonies Never Say Die!
Few movies from our childhood carry their charm into our adulthood, but 1985’s ‘The Goonies’ has managed to surpass that charm and explode into a pop-culture springboard for the actors involved. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I idolized the kids in this film and always hoped (and still do) that I would find a treasure map so, I too, could embark on a crazy Goonie adventure. This film has captured the hearts of millions of fans worldwide and even spawned a video game sequel for the Nintendo Entertainment System in the late 80′s. To kick it off, here is a list of Hark.com’s “Memorable Sound Quotes from 1985’s The Goonies”:
Check out our entire The Goonies Sound Quotes collection for more of your favorite sound quotes. Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Sean Astin and others all got their start with this flick, so go check it out and remember what it is that makes this movie so darn special.
Pop Quiz, Hotshot: Did you know that Mrs. Walsh, actress Mary Ellen Trainor, has appeared in 6 Richard Donner directed movies, including ‘The Goonies?’ She was also similarly cast as the mother in 1987’s ‘The Monster Squad’, a film often mentioned as a childhood favorite among Goonies fans due to its similar tone of adventurous children in peril. Also if you’ve ever wondered why, at the end of the film, Data says to the reporters that the “scariest part was the giant octopus?” Check out the deleted scenes on the DVD or Blu-ray and you’ll find out what he was talking about.
