New Releases for Tuesday, July 26th

Do you smell that?  Smells like fresh baked new releases for you to enjoy this Tuesday morning, tasty and full of goodness baked right inside.  New DVD’s have the perfect smell, the aroma of pressed plastic and sticker residue when you open up the casing cannot be matched.  Unless you have freshly delivered pizza to go with it, that actually smells a lot better.  And you can eat it pizza, I do not recommend eating a DVD even though you now want to try it.  Well, let me know if you do.  Newsworthy Alert:  John Belushi on Blu-ray today!  Both The Blues Brothers & Animal House premiere on Blu!

I hear good things about ‘Source Code’ starring Jake Gyllenhaal, haven’t seen it yet myself.  I haven’t been in the right mood to watch it, but it does kind of remind me of Denzel Washington‘s ‘Deja Vu’ from a few years ago.  That was a good flick, in fact, I actually feel like watching that today.  Maybe after I do I will watch ‘Source Code’ just to compare the two films.

‘Catherine’, by Atlus, is a very interesting game that combines anime with morality, and is described in reviews as being a horror-action-adventure interactive game.  IT has been getting rave reviews, I’m not sure just who the target demographic is for a title such as this.  It’s rated ‘M’ but I think this is one case in particular where younger gamers won’t be interested in it due to the rating alone, that’s better left for ‘Mortal Kombat‘ or ‘Call of Duty‘ franchise entries.

Nintendo’s Wii and DS platforms have no new releases this week, instead they are relying on some 3DS debuts to fill the void. Nintendo released the ‘Smurf’s‘ games across the Wii and DS last week, that movie adaptation comes out this friday.

Speaking of movie adaptations, anyone play the ‘Captain America’ game for any system yet?  Let me know if it’s any good.
