The Shining (1980)

Yes, you read that right.  Horror novelist Stephen King, who has had more movie adaptations from his books than anyone else in history, is nearly complete in his sequel to the classic story ‘The Shining‘.  The original movie version was directed in 1980 by the legendary Stanley Kubrick and starred Jack Nicholson as the father/novelist who goes absolutely insane in the haunted Overlook Hotel, terrifying his wife and young psychic son.  Then, in 1997, a made-for-TV miniseries aired that was closer to King’s original version of the novel (King has never been a fan of Kubrick’s version of his story, even though fans love it).

The new book is entitled ‘Dr. Sleep’ and will focus on a now grown-up Danny Torrance fighting psychic vampires.  Yes, that is the story.  How soon until the movie version is made?  Anyone want to chime in with their thoughts on this one?
