Thanksgiving Weekend Box Office Recap
Hope your Thanksgiving weekend went well, I know that I got a lot of stuff done just ahead of the cold weather so it’s back to indoor hermit tendencies to report on what matters most: sound quotes! Who went and watched ‘The Muppets‘ this weekend? What about ‘Hugo’ or ‘Arthur Christmas’? The answer is: not nearly as many that went to see the new ‘Twilight‘ film!
Thanksgiving 2011 Box Office Recap
- ‘Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn, Part 1′ with $42M (not surprisingly, taking the lead for the second straight week)
- ‘The Muppets‘ with $29.5M (the long-awaited return is going over well with fans)
- ‘Happy Feet Two’ with $13.4M (some tough competition, but fair enough returns)
- ‘Arthur Christmas’ with $12.7M (British animated comedy, well received by American humans)
- ‘Hugo’ with $11.3 (I knew this wasn’t going to do very well, even though it is a well-made film it just doesn’t have mass appeal)
- ‘Jack and Jill’ with $10.3M (Adam Sandler will continue to make movies like this as long as people pay to see it)
- ‘Immortals’ with $8.8M (I hear the 3D is really, really good in this)
- ‘Puss in Boots’ with $7.45M (holding on to the top 10 for 5 weeks now)
- ‘Tower Heist’ with $7.32M (I suppose there must be something to like in this, I just don’t know what it is)
- ‘The Descendants’ with $7.2M (George Clooney better win an award for this, he deserves it)
