When Gus (Leary) kidnaps a dysfunctional married couple (Kevin Spacey & Judy Davis) and hides out at their house, he gets far more than he bargained for as the sparring couple grate on his last nerves, amplifying an already hostile situation into an all-out war of words. When bickering family members arrive at the home for a holiday dinner, Gus has no choice but to keep his sanity by becoming “the ref” (referee) of the insulting onslaught of profanities and even blackmail.
