Saavik: We have found the life sign. It is a Vulcan child, perhaps 8-10 earth years of age.
James T. Kirk: A child? How did he get there?
Saavik: It's Dr. Marcus' opinion that this is... That the Genesis effect has, in some way, regenerated... Captain Spock.

Saavik reports to Kirk that she has found who she believes to be Spock, in the form of a child.
