Mike: "All week before the Jets game I'm like, 18 you know, we're gonna handle it, me and you we're gonna win this game and he's like oh yeah okay and I'm like, ah Peyton come on, show some enthusiasm, you're the quarterback we need to win this game and I just don't see it from him. Some guys have it, some guys don't you know. And Coach Dungy he's just a mild mannered guy, he doesn't get too excited he doesn't get too down, um and I don't think that works either. I think you need a motivator, I think you need a guy that's gonna get in somebody's face when they're not performing well enough." Peyton: "Surely you don't like to take criticism from your own teammates. You know, Mike's a guy that I've supported a lot. I mean, he's had some field goals that he's missed like the game winner against Miami and I was there to kinda put my arm around him you know and I try to be there for him. It's kinda like being, kinda like the bat boy talking about you. I'm about to go in and throw a touchdown to Jerry Rice we're honoring in the Hall of Fame we're talkin about our idiot kicker who got liquored up and ran his mouth off. Hey Al, Dan, what is the sports world coming to where we're talking about idiot kickers, he has ruined kickers for life. Akers and Vinatieri these guys are great guys and they've been getting killed all week because our idiot ran his mouth. So when I get home I'll deal with it and Tony and I will talk about it. It's kinda funny when you think about it. If he is still a teammate we'll deal with it you know, that remains to be seen. The sad thing is Dan he's a good kicker, he's a good kicker but he's an idiot."
2000's entire Vanderjagt snafu with Peyton's comeback.
