Jules Winnfield is a character in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson in an Academy Award-nominated performance. He appears in the first story of Pulp Fiction which is split into two parts at the beginning and end of the film. Initially he is a Hitman working alongside Vincent Vega but after revelation, or as he refers to it "a moment of clarity" he decides to leave to "Walk the Earth." During the film he is stated to be from Inglewood, California. Jules was a hitman working for mob boss Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames).
