Tessio: Barzini's people chisel my territory, and we do nothing about it. Pretty soon there won't be one place in Brooklyn I can hang my hat!
Michael: Just be patient.
Clemenza: Mike, just take off the handcuffs.
Michael: Be patient.
Clemenza: we need protection. Let me recruit some new men.
Michael: No. I don't want to give Barzini an excuse to start fighting.
Clemenza: Mike, you're wrong. Don Corleone, you once said that the day would come when Tessio and me could form our own family. I must ask your permission.
Don Corleone: Michael is now head of the family, and if he gives his permission, then you have my blessing.
Michael: After we make the move to Nevada, you can break off and go on your own.
Clemenza: How long will that be?
Michael: Six months.
Tessio: Forgive me, godfather, but with you gone, me and Pete will come under Barzini's thumb sooner or later.
Clemenza: And I hate that goddamned Barzini. In six months' time, there won't be nothing left to build on.
Don Corleone: Do you have faith in my judgment?
Clemenza: Yes.
Don Corleone: Do I have your loyalty?
Clemenza: Always.
Don Corleone: Be a friend to michael. Do as he says.
Michael: There are things being negotiated that will solve your problems and answer all your questions. That's all I can tell you now.
Carlo, you grew up in Nevada. When we move, you'll be my right-hand man. Tom Hagen's no longer Consigliori. He's going to be our lawyer in Vegas. No reflection on Tom. That's the way I want it. Besides, who's a better Consigliori than my father? That's it. All right.
Carlo: Thank you, papa. I'm happy for you, Carlo.
Tom: Mike, why am I out?
Michael: You're not a wartime consigliori, Tom. Things may get rough with the move we're trying.
Don Corleone: Tom. I advised Michael. I never thought you were a bad Consigliori. I thought, Santino's a bad don. Rest in peace. Michael has all my confidence, as--as you do. But, uh, there are reasons why you must have no part in what will happen.
Tom: I could help.
Michael: You're out, Tom.

Tessio and Clemenza complain about the pressure that Barzini is putting on them.
